My Summer Skin Care Products

I get asked all the time about my skincare routine, and what products I use. Over the years I have tried my fair share of cleansers, lotions, toner, and exfoliators. Lately I have found some products that have done wonders for my skin, keeping it clear and glowing perfect for summer. One important tip when applying products to your face, whether its at night or in the morning, layer by consistency. Start with the thinnest consistency (like a toner) and build up from thinnest the thickest. Below are the products I am currently using from thinnest to thickest so you can see what I mean. 

Making sure your skin is clean of dirt, oil, and environmental build up is the first step. With that being said…

Lets start with exfoliators, exfoliating is crucial to clear, glowing and youthful looking skin. My two favorites are the Kate Sommerville Exfolikate and the Vasanti Brighten Up Exfoliator. I exfoliate my skin about 2 to 3 times a week. For me, exfoliating is extremely important to scrub off the top layer of dead skin and let the new skin underneath come out and breathe, giving you youthful glowing skin. I usually switch off between the KAte Summerville and the Vasanti exfoliators. I like using Brighten Up because it helps reduce the look of blemishes, and brighten up acne or sun spots. Where the Kate Sommerville Exfolikate is awesome, used by many celebs and influencers out there. Kate Sommerville is a well known brand, who produced an incredible exfoliator, the green color helps with redness and reducing the look of blemishes. Some exfoliators are rough on your skin leaving it very red or even hurt. Both of these are gentle on the skin while still exfoliating it wonderfully. 

Now lets chat cleansers, lets be real cleansers are the foundation to beautiful and clear skin. I have tried expensive, non expensive, and everything in between. And have finally found a cleanser that I love. Its all natural plant based ingredients clean my skin removing dirt, oil, and makeup. It doesn’t leave your skin stiff or oily, it almost feels like its not even on your skin. I have also used and loved a toner by the brand Jessa Skincare, their antioxidant blemish toner is amazing! Its  natural ingredients like witch hazel, aloe, green tea, and lavender help minimize the look and color of blemishes. Both toners are awesome and will work on any type of skin. If you don’t already have a toner in your skincare routine, I highly recommend you look into getting one it will change the look and feel of your skin. 

Next in my skincare routine is my BioClarity Restore cream, it is green in color and restores the look and texture of your skin. BioClarity Restore is made up of Floralux, which is Chlorophyll, its natural green color calms the skin smoothing away blemishes and restoring the look of your skin. This stuff has made a huge difference for me in the discoloration of acne scars, sun spots, and blemishes I am prone to. I use Restore at night, applying it before bed to let it work its magic. It goes on green but as you rub it into the skin the green color disappears not leaving green trace on your skin. Third, I move onto the Hydrate Skin Smoothe, this stuff has changed my skin! I use this both morning and night and would say the texture is between the restore cream and a lotion. It is cool to the touch and feels silky smooth. It comes out a pale greenish blue color and literally makes your skin feel like it just drank a gallon of water. It instantly hydrates your skin, giving it a glow finish. I personally have oily skin, and the Hydrate Skin Smoothe balances my oils keeping my skin glow without being shiny. This Hydrate Skin Smoothe is essential to any skin routine, whether you have dry skin, or oily skin, this stuff will change your skins feel and appearance. I cannot say enough good things about this product. 

Finally is lotion, I have struggled for a long time to find a good lotion that I like that actually helps improve my skin. And finally, thanks to FabFitFun, I’ve found one I love! Its by the brand Murad, and its their Skin Perfecting Lotion. It has changed the game for me. Its oil free and pairs with retinol and Queen of Meadows extract to minimize pores, tighten skin, and leave your skin looking smooth with a flawless complexion. I only use the tiniest bit, and really concentrate it on my T-zone, that is where my pores are the largest and the oil secretion is the worst.
