My Daytime and Nighttime Skin Care Weekly Routine

Since my last post went through all of the products I am currently using, I wanted to share a schedule of when I use the products and tools. I have a very strict skin care schedule that I try my hardest to stick to. Having a schedule is important to give your skin some variance day to day, week to week and even month to month. This helps your skin to not get used to one routine and end up adapting to it, giving you fewer results. Changing up your skin care routine is like changing up your workout. If you stick to the same exercises week to week you will see results but eventually if you don’t change up your exercises your body will get used to them and you won’t see the long term results you are hoping for. Same thing with your skin. Your skin takes about 30 days to adjust to new products or routines. Once you introduce new products to your skincare give it a full 30-45 days from starting the products to see if the products work for you or not. Your skin is very in tune with your hormones and is on a cycles just like the rest of your body. Allowing it time to adjust will help you to know if those products are truly good for your skin type or not.

This is my nighttime routine, as you can see exfoliating is not mentioned. This is because I typically only exfoliate in the shower and I usually take my beauty showers in the morning. A beauty shower to me isn’t the shower I take after the gym or the lake or a long hot day. But a shower where my whole body gets pampered, full hair wash, body exfoliated, multiple face washes or exfoliating, and a full wash and scrub down to finish it all off. I like my beauty showers in the morning because it makes me feel ready to take on my day. If I take a beauty shower at night and exfoliate my face, then I alter my routine slightly that night to account for the exfoliation.

I will share my morning routine with a post about the makeup I am loving for summer. Until then, here is my nighttime routine.
